No. I my opinion it looks like the ugly country cousin of the CLA.

Hahaha why does the cousin gotta be ugly AND country? :big smile:

Anyway I like the GLA. There are probably other SUVs I would choose for myself over this one, but I can see my dad driving it because he is a fan of the Porsche Cayenne and Volkswagen Touareg. It reminds me of those SUVs. It is aggressive looking. I think the GLK is more girly looking

Same as the CLA, ( lots of commonality) in the front, bit more headroom/legroom in the back. Shot these at the Detroit show.

it will sell like hot cakes but to a completely different profile of individual than the CLA. The CLA in general is for the younger, single or married without kids individuals who are looking for a performance-like luxury car. The GLA will appeal more to the middle-aged family with kids looking for a high-end-ish alternative to a minivan/SUV. There are plenty of people in each group to sell to but the groups themselves do not necessarily overlap much. I doubt you will find many on this board looking for this vehicle as much more than a "maybe some day"

within that you will find people who will have kids (or have kids now) that stick with the CLA for its better performance styling and you will find people in the CLA group that choose the GLA for better off-road ability or better headroom.

If the usable room ( especially in the back seat area ) represents an improvement over the CLA, the GLA will indeed sell like hot cakes. This is the nicest looking small SUV on photo and has more curved, masculine lines than the CLA. It will not attract folks who are looking at the Korean or non luxury Japanese import because of major price disadvantage but it will be a big player in the segment occupied or to be occupied by the upcoming Porsche, BMW (X-1), Audi (Q3), VW (Tigan/Q3). Lexus and Infiniti. I personally know of several baby boomer era women with grown kids who have enjoyed the utility of a SUV but has no more need for a large, fuel inefficient version that would jump at the GLA. My suggestion - put down a refundable deposit if you want one.

Out of the cute'utes out there in the market and to come (Acura RDX, Infiniti QX50, Audi Q3, BMW X3, VW Tiguan, Porsche Macan, Land Rover LR2), this GLA looks to be the best-looking!

The Land Rover Evoque is a looker, but as-equipped it likely creeps up in MSRP.

Are there plans for a GLA45? That'd be interesting... :p

Yes, I am waiting for the GLA to hit dealerships. I had intentions of getting a CLA but was really disappointed by its size and dimensions. It felt too low to the ground for me and too crampted entry/exit. I'm hoping the GLA is a little bit more comfortable but I'm not too optimistic. Compared to the BMW X1 and Audi Q3, the GLA has the lowest roofline of the bunch. I'm looking forward to the Q3 to come out later this year. It supposedly has a decent roofline height.

Never in a million years. Not an SUV/crossover fan (though I have enjoyed driving my day's RDX lately). However, i think this might be the perfect car for people who currently drive a Subaru outback, a minivan, or another small SUV.

I like GLA looks cute but i would rather buy the GLK given the option and price differeences,

However, im single and like small cars, and I would much rather go with the CLA since I don't need the extra space and I drive pretty fast

If i was in the SUV/Crossover market, the GLA or GLK look better than alot of the competition and would be a nice to not have an acura or one of the more common/popular ones out there

I am beginning to like the concept of a small SUV that is lower to the ground than traditional SUVs. While I like my CLA, I think a little more room would be nice.

If the GLA were released before the CLA, I would have gotten the GLA. I like the styling of the CLA better, but I also do like the GLA styling as well. However, from a utility standpoint, because I have a 120lb Bernese Mountain Dog, I would rather have something like a GLA where my pup can sit in the trunk/hatch as opposed to the back seats. I was considering the GLK, but I wanted fuel efficiency and didn't need that large of a vehicle. The hatch back version A-Class would have been great too, but that's not available in North America. So I went with the CLA as a result, as I didn't want to wait.
